Guide to Korean Music Festivals

Starting from April to October, when Korea’s weather is sunny and nice, annual music festivals take place across the country. Most of the festivals are cancelled but some festas decide to hold their annual event online. Check out some of the festivals and prepare your visit next year!

Jarasum International Jazz Festival (ONLINE)

The Jarasum International Jazz Festival is held every October on the beautiful Jaraseom Island in Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do. During the festival, world-famous jazz artists come together to delight audiences with the smooth vibes of live jazz. As a Green Life Honorary Ambassador, the festival is also passionate about environmental protection. In order to share the external growth with the community, the festival holds Gapyeong Band Contest, publishes Gapyeong Restaurant Guidebook, and produces Jazz Makgeolli and Jazz Wine made from the region’s products. If you are a jazz lover, this festival is a must visit.

The Grand Mint Festival

The Grand Mint Festival is one of the most popular outdoor music festivals in South Korea, drawing the attendance of thousands of fans every year. Annually the festival is held in Olympic Park in Seoul. You’ll be able to find singers of various genre from indie bands to pop all day long from 5 different stages in the wide spread Olympic Park. Green Plugged Festival

Seoul Jazz Festival

The Seoul Jazz Festival is an annual jazz festival which takes place in Seoul. The festival spans across two or three days. Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival (ONLINE)

Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival is a rock festival, which is held annually in Incheon, South Korea for three days at the end of July. It is considered as one of the biggest live music events in South Korea. The festival covers various genres of music, but mainly rock music and electronic music. World DJ Festival

World DJ Festival is the biggest annual DJ Festival in Korea. This year, the event supposed to take place as part of the Formula-E Championship, an electric vehicle racing championship being held in Seoul for the first time, however, it has been cancelled due to recent situation.
